Gatineau police say there could be more victims after a 92-year-old woman was robbed by an orderly at a retirement home.
Police said the woman caught the orderly stealing money and jewelry from her room in March and reported the theft to police.
The orderly was arrested after an investigation, but was released without charge. However, he was fired from his job.
After consulting with the Crown attorney, charges were authorized and the man was arrested again on Aug. 1. He was released from custody on the condition that he doesn’t work at a retirement home or with elderly people.
Marc Bruyère, 56, is charged with theft under $5,000.
