A 74-year-old woman was charged with trafficking marijuana after a month-long Ottawa police street crime investigation.
Police said the investigation began in December 2014 in response to public complaints about drugs and alcohol at an apartment on Rochester Street.
A search warrant was executed at the apartment on Thursday by street crime and central division neighbourhood officers.
Police say they seized a digital scale, packaging material, 18 cases of beer, 17 cartons of illegal cigarettes, 45 bags of illegal cigarettes and more than 450 grams of marijuana. They also seized $910 in cash.
Kim Phung Quach, 74, was charged with marijuana trafficking, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 and unlawfully selling liquor.
Quach was released from custody on a promise to appear in court Feb. 25.
Police said further charges are pending.
